Welcome to Bay Shore

A lively neighborhood with an active, innovative, and exciting downtown district

Located in the Town of Islip, Bay Shore is a census-designated village along the South Shore of Long Island. With excellent waterfront access in a historic neighborhood, Bay Shore offers a laid-back place to call home. The area features historic, Tudor-style colonials, cozy Capes, contemporary/modern apartments and single-family homes sitting on large properties along tree-lined streets. The downtown area is bustling with activity and exciting dining and shopping opportunities.

Bursting with notable homes and businesses, Bay Shore has quite an interesting history. Originally home to the Secatogue Native Americans, the area was settled with a land patent from Queen Anne of England in 1708. Through the years, Bay Shore became known as a popular destination for shopping, and residents of New York City would take the train to enjoy a reprieve from busy city life along the quaint streets of Bay Shore and Fire Island. Today, the town remains quiet and charming but features a vibrant downtown district with plenty of things to do and community-wide events throughout the year.
